Hunan, Gyeongsangbuk-do Establish Friendly-province Relationship

Hunan and Gyeongsangbuk-do (North Gyeongsang Province) of South Korea reached an agreement on establishing friendly-province relationship in Changsha on November 29, 2018. CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Deputy Secretary and Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe met with Gyeongsangbuk-do (North Gyeongsang Province) Governor Lee Cheol-woo, and signed the agreement.  
Governor Xu welcomed South Korean guests. He described Hunan’s long history, beautiful landscapes, profound culture, and prosperous development. He said, "Taking advantages of its geographical location, Hunan vigorously implements an innovation-oriented opening up and development strategy, to offer enabling conditions for innovation and entrepreneurship, and integrate into the Yangtze River Economic Belt construction. Several competitive industrial sectors have been formed, including engineering machinery, rail transit, aero-engine and components, electronic information, and new materials. Remarkable achievements have been made in opening up. "
"Gyeongsangbuk-do have a number of enterprises boasting strong scientific research strength. Hunan and Gyeongsangbuk-do have strong foundation and great prospect of cooperation. He hoped that the two provinces will produce more sustainable win-win results in keeping closer friendly-province ties, facilitating rural vitalization, enhancing economic and trade, and cultural and tourism collaboration," he added.
Lee Cheol-woo was impressed by Hunan's innovative atmosphere, and development momentum. He expected to take this opportunity to promote exchange visits, share experiences in economy, trade, education, and tourism, and enhance collaboration in various fields. 
As agreed, Hunan and Gyeongsangbuk-do will promote exchange and cooperation in economy, trade, science and technology, culture, tourism, education, public health, sports, talent, and future industries, and establish platforms for exchanges of mutual concerns.
