Consul-general of Thailand in Kunming Visits Hunan

Consul-general of Thailand in Kunming Mr. Pornpop Uampidhaya led a delegation to visit Hunan on Sept. 28. Deputy Director of the Foreign Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hunan Province Qiu Aihua, entrusted by the Office Director Xiao Bailing, met in Changsha with the guests.


Qiu mentioned the long-lasting close relationship between Hunan and Thailand. Hunan has received an increasing number of Thailand tourists since the operation of the direct flight between Changsha and Thailand. Meanwhile, Thailand is a popular destination in Hunan’s outbound tourism list. He hoped the Hunan and Thailand would further strengthen communication and bilateral relations, and welcomed Thailand organizations to visit Hunan for exchange and negotiation.


Mr. Pornpop Uampidhaya remarked that friendly relationship has been long kept between China and Thailand, and the Consulate of Thailand in Kunming and Hunan Province have made lots of achievements in cooperative fields. He expected the two sides to continue to give full play to their distinctive advantages, to further strengthen collaboration in such fields as economy and trade, tourism, and investment in the future.


Director Xiao Bailing joined the meeting at lunch, and discussed about further cooperation, especially cooperative mechanism of Hunan-Thailand work teams.
