Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Du Jiahao and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Acting Governor of Hunan Province Xu Dazhe met in Changsha with a delegation headed by Zhi Shuping, minister of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) on the afternoon of Dec. 3, 2016.

Provincial leaders Sheng Ronghua and Xiang Lili also attended the meeting.

Secretary Du extended warm welcome to the AQSIQ guests for their inspection and instruction, and thanked the AQSIQ for their long-term support to Hunan’s reform and development. He added that Hunan is based on its regional orientation “One Belt and One Zone” (the junction zone of the Yangtze River Open Economic Belt and the Coastal Open Economic Belt and the transitional zone from the eastern coastal areas to the central and western areas) to vigorously implement two strategies of innovation-oriented development and the rise of Hunan via opening up. The province has also actively pushed forward industrial gradient transfer from coastal areas and accelerated the development of competitive industries, such as engineering machinery, rail transit, electronic information, 3D printing and new materials. In particular, the mainland province will take the advantage of Chang-Zhu-Tan city cluster approved as the first pilot cities to initiate “Made in China 2025” strategy, to make Hunan a manufacturing power and contribute more to related national strategy.

Secretary Du hoped that the AQSIQ would as always provide instruction and assistance to Hunan’s port construction, quality inspection, and standard construction, so as to enhance Hunan’s ability in quality inspection and give a boost to Hunan’s development with higher quality, efficiency and sustainability.

Minister Zhi Shuping said the AQSIQ would actively integrate with Hunan’s development strategies, and make practical measures to support its port construction. The state organization will also cooperate with related departments and enterprises to inspect quality of main industries and featured products. It will fully support the construction of a pilot area for “Made in China 2025” strategy in Chang-Zhu-Tan city cluster and contribute more to promoting Hunan’s innovation ability, industrial development and opening up.
