The photo above taken on May 26th, 2017 shows the reconstruction project of the Hunan Provincial Museum (PhaseⅡ) has completed its exterior wall decoration of the new main building. It is now entering into the interior decoration stage.

Located on Dongfeng Road, Kaifu District, Changsha City, the Hunan Provincial Museum has been closed since the second half of 2012 due to the expansion plan. It was scheduled to be open to the public in the second half of this year.

The newly renovated museum covers a total construction area of 91,000 square meters. It will provide better conditions for collection preservation, protection, and scientific research. The exhibitions and education facilities will be significantly increased. It is going to be among the key national level museums and advanced international museums.
