Changsha Selected as Culture City of East Asia 2017

Changsha, provincial capital of Hunan, has just been crowned a “Culture City of East Asia 2017” at the review meeting held in Beijing on July 25, 2016. 
 
This is Hunan’s first cultural identity introducing to the international arena, which will help expand connectivity linking Huxiang culture and the world.
 
Jointly established by China, Japan and South Korea, the “Culture City of East Asia” is an important brand in culture field, and the first international campaign themed with culture city in Asia. It selects one city from each of the participating countries every year. Since its launching in 2013, it had been held for three sessions, with Quanzhou, Qingdao, and Ningbo selected as China’s “Culture City of East Asia”.
 
To deserve the title, Changsha has made great efforts and vigorously organized colorful cultural activities, such as East Asian Art Festival, East Asian Cultural Forum, and Mayor Summit of “Culture City of East Asia”. Document and resource center, and website of digital cultural city of East Asia in Chinese, Japanese and Korean versions were established. Beyond that, numerous music, sports, painting arts, photography, and intangible cultural exchange events will be held in the future.
