A work conference on Hunan's going global was held in Changsha on February 23. The Department of Commerce of Hunan Province stressed stepping up efforts this year to develop overseas platforms for Hunan's going global, to boost construction of overseas economic and trade cooperation parks, and fuel development of Hunan's competitive industries.

Hunan has established several industrial parks overseas, such as Hunan Agricultural Industrial Park in Northern Europe, Hunan Rubber Industrial Park in Laos, Hunan Industrial Park in Thailand, and Hunan Commercial and Logistics Park in Vietnam. These overseas industrial parks have played important roles in promoting Hunan's implementation of "Belt and Road" Initiative and international capacity cooperation. By the end of last year, Hunan has authorized 1177 overseas enterprises in 86 countries and regions, making its international investment lead in the country.

Hunan issued Trial Measures of Hunan Province for the Management of Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Parks to facilitate cluster development of Hunan's competitive industries. The Measures focused on four orientations of economic and trade cooperation parks, namely processing and manufacturing, agricultural industry, commerce and logistics, and resource utilization. As the Department of Commerce released, intensified efforts will be made to develop the industrial parks under construction in North Europe, Vietnam, and Thailand. Sany, Zoomlion, CSR, and Longping High-tech will be supported to set overseas industrial bases. Beyond that, Hunan will choose high-quality projects from South Carolina (USA), Ethiopia, Surinam, and Cambodia for future targets of overseas industrial park.
