Hunan CPPCC Members Contribute to Hunan Opera Gala

Human Spring Festival Opera Gala was broadcast on Hunan TV and Hunan ETV on February 10 and 11, 2016, the third and fourth day of Chinese lunar New Year, gaining top audience rating around the province.


Actually, this good result could not be made without calls and contributions by several CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee members. Wang Han, member of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee and producer in Hunan TV, has striven for this event since he proposed his proposal four years ago.


As the gala opened, Wang Yangjuan, CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee member, director of the Hunan Xiang Opera Troupe, and a National Class-A performer, enchanted the audiences with an episode of Xiang Opera masterpiece “Li Zhen Back Home”. Wang raised a proposal on Hunan’s promoting traditional operas on TV ten years ago when she was a member of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress. She has devoted to Hunan opera’s development and promotion for years.

Kunqu Opera, Qi Opera and Han Opera episodes were staged by Zhang Fuguang, Lei Ling, Xiao Xiaobo, and Peng Ling, who were winners of the Plum Performance Award, top award for Chinese opera performance in China. Peng and Xiao are members of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, and respectively director of Changde Protection Center for High Tune of Han Opera and performer in Hunan Qi Opera Inheritance and Protection Center.


Despite of famous performers on the stage, several members of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee led their troupes to contribute to the gala, said Yan Fuchu, chief executive producer of the Gala.
