Project content: Yiyang-Majitang Expressway begins with the Dengshiqiao linking line between No.319 National Highway and Yiyang South Expressway, westwards crosses Zhixi River, via Xielingang and Zhumutan, crosses Taohua River at the place 4km to the south of Taojiang County Seat, via Fuqiushan, Shuikousgan, crosses Zhan River, via Lucidu, Daligang and Zhujinba, crosses Yi River, via Youheping and Majitang, finally ends at the Majitang linking line, which is located at the K53+300 position of the Changde-Meicheng section of the Erenhot-Guangzhou Expressway. Yiyang-Majitang Expressway has a total length of about 59km. The project shall be built in accordance with the bi-directional 4-lane expressway standard, with a design speed of 100km/h, a roadbed width of 26m and a vehicle load grade of grade-I. The other technical indexes shall accord with Highway Engineering Technical Standards (JTGB01-2003). Hunan Provincial Department of Communications has approved the early-stage preparations for the project. At present, the feasibility study on the project is being implemented. We plan to begin the project construction in December 2009 and shall complete the construction within 3 years. After the completion, the project shall greatly shorten the distance between our city and other neighboring cities such as Changde and Yueyang, and shall be of importance for achieving the regional economic development and especially for realizing Hunan Provincial Government’s goal of building the Around-Dongting-Lake Economic Ring.
