Magu is one of the eight most popular legendary Taoist fairy figures in China. Situated in a canyon at the foot of Tianzhu Peak, Magu Fairyland boasts rock arch bridges, bamboo pavilions and houses. Statues of Magu and a fairy deer stand in Jiangzhu Pond. Legend has it that Magu would come to the Jingzhu Pond on the third day of the third month in Chinese lunar calendar to pick up glossy ganoderma for the wine to be used for the birthday ceremony of the Heaven Queen .
