Huangting Temple

Constructed in 618AD, the first year of the reign of Emperor Wude in Tang Dynasty, this temple is situated at the foot of Jixian Peak. The temple enjoys a high status in Taoist participants because the well known Taoist nun-Lady Nanyue Wei, ascended to heaven here. "The Stone of Ascending to Heaven" outside the temple is said to be the mark of Lady Wei's transcendence.

The temple has three courtyards and two wing rooms. Upon entering, one can see a horizontal board inscribed the name of the temple in three golden Chinese characters "huan ting guan". Further on is Wei Yuanjun Hall-the main hall of Huangting Temple.
