Changsha Ecological Zoo

Changsha Ecological Zoo, located in the Muyun Town of Changsha County, is close to the Furong South Road and the Beltway. It is very convenient since it only takes 30 minutes to drive from the downtown of three cities: Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan (experimental area for building resource-effective and eco-friendly society).

Changsha Ecological Zoo, originally known as Changsha Zoo, was finished and opened in Oct. 2010. Now it covers an area of 1500 acres. According to world known zoo standards, the Changsha Ecological Zoo consists of walking area, stocking of wild area, popularization of science area, natural scenic area, leisure area, tourist service area, and 37 cage zones and performance stages. It has more than 300 varieties of animals and more than 5000 animals.

Changsha Ecological Zoo is the only organization in Hunan province that has been authorized by Chinese Forestry Bureau and Agricultural department to breed first and second class of wild animals. The Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha government have paid a great deal of attention to it during its construction. The building concept of Changsha Ecological Zoo, animal kinds and management are said to be superior in China. It is a perfect place for traveling as well as for science education for students.

Time for tickets selling: Monday-Friday (9:00-15:30); weekends (8:30-16:00)

Time for vehicle area: Monday-Friday (9:00-16:30); weekends (8:30-16:45)

Time for elephant performance: Monday-Friday (10:00 11:30 14:00 15:30);

Weekends (10:00 11:30 13:00 14:30 16:00)

Ticket price:

1 vehicle area and walking area: 45/per person

2 through ticket: 80/per person

3 elephant performance: 20/per person

4 forest theatre: 20/per person

5 free price for children under the height of 1.2 meter,

6 Free for middle and primary students, over 65 years old people and disabled people, as long as they can provide the relevant certificates.
