Yueyang is at the confluence of Dongting Lake and the Yantze River. It is the only riverside port open to the outside world in Hunan. Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, No.107 national highway and Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway go through the city from south to north, with convenient transport facilities.


Yueyang Railway Station is located in Xianfeng Road, Yueyang and Beijing-Guangzhou Railway Runs through the city. Every day more than 70 trains leave Yueyang Railway Station for Beijing, Jinan, Guangzhou, Guilin, Wuhan, Kunming, Changsha, Hengyang and other cities.



Yueyang has four long-distance bus stations: Yuyang Bus Station, North Jianshe Road Bus Station, Baling Bus Station and East Baling Road Bus Station. Passenger buses mainly go from Yueyang to Guangzhou, Nanning, Wuhan, Changsha and other cities.

Yueyang is an important port along the Yangtze River, and the Chenglingji Wharf in the north of the city proper is the largest port in Hunan. From the Chenglingji Wharf, ships can go upstream to Chongqing, and go downstream to Shanghai.

Urban Traffic
The main means of transportation in Yueyang are buses and taxis, with fares ranging from RMB1 yuan to RMB 3 yuan. The starting price for taxis is RMB 5 yuan, and tourists will be charged according to the distance.
