Hunan Provincial Children's Library

Hunan Provincial Children's Library was established in 1981. It is one of the earliest independent provincial libraries for Juveniles and children. Covering an area of over 12,000 square meters, it houses more than 700,000 books and 1,400 kinds of magazines and newspapers. It has 800 reading seats. Children's readings and teaching materials are the major collections here. The library also provides children's audio-visual materials and delivers teaching materials for primary schools and middle schools to the doorstep. Various reading events are often held.

The Foreign Language Book Reading Room opened to the public on September 7, 2021. The reading room is located at the north end of the library's second floor, next to the Literature Lending and Reading Room. It is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 to 11:30 and from 13:30 to 17:30. A wide range of original children's books are available, including more than 15,000 English-language children's books and 3,000 picture books from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

How to get here:

1. Bus:

Take bus No. 1, 2, 142, 501 or 901 and get off at Xiaowumen Station (小吴门站) or Zhongshan Road Station (中山路站).

2. Metro:

Take Changsha Metro Line 2 and get off at Furong Square Station (芙蓉广场站), and then take bus No. 131, 113 or 146 to reach the library.
