Quzi Cultural Park is located in Quzici Town, Miluo City. It consists of Quzi Memorial Temple Core Scenic Area, Duanwu Folk Culture Experience Area, Duanwu Cultural Industry Area, Duanwu Folk Culture Area, Qu Yuan Tomb Protection Area, and Miluo River Wetland Conservation Area.

The cultural park offers visitors an access to Qu Yuan culture, dragon boat race, artistic appreciation, folk custom demonstration, and recreation and entertainment. It is a Qu Yuan cultural research base of Hunan Provincial Qu Yuan Association and a research center of Qu Yuan Culture Research Institution of Central South University.

As the park’s cultural core, Quzi Memorial Temple is the only ancient building that has been preserved in China to commemorate Qu Yuan. The temple houses a collection of various versions of Chinese and foreign books and inscriptions about Qu Yuan from ancient to modern times. They are valuable resource for studying Qu Yuan culture. A worship ceremony to commemorate Qu Yuan has been well preserved here, which was included into the first batch of Hunan provincial intangible cultural items and was reputed as a living fossil of traditional Hunan culture.

Qu Yuan was a patriotic poet living more than 2,000 years ago. According to legend, he drowned himself in the Miluo River in what is now Hunan Province to protest corruption in his kingdom.
