Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary, conducted in-depth inspections in Chenzhou’s Zixing City, Yizhang County, and Beihu District on August 19 and 20, 2020. He asked to keep to the concept of “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”; follow the path of ecological priority and green development; and, promote the harmonious coexistence between human and nature, and economic development and environmental protection, to push forward high-quality economic and social development with a good ecological environment.

Secretary Du pointed out that Chenzhou has faced great environmental pollution burdens due to historical reasons, and heavy tasks of ecological restoration and transformation and development. Thus we must continue to make more efforts and pay more attention to ecological construction and environmental protection; adjust the economic structure; promote industrial transformation and upgrading; and increase the “green content” of economic development, so as to better satisfy the people's yearning for a better ecological environment. We must ensure stability on six fronts and security in six areas; stabilize the employment of residents; hold the bottom line of ensuring safety, stability, and operation; fight three critical battles against poverty, pollution and major risks; and, do a solid job in normalized epidemic prevention and control, flood prevention and drought resistance, early rice purchases, and safety in production and other work. We should focus on stabilizing economic operations; maintaining social security and stability; striving for a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects; and, the successful conclusion of the "13th Five-Year Plan", he added.
