Secretary Du, Governor Xu Meet with CMCC Manager

On July 27, Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary, and Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, had a discussion in Changsha with Yang Jie, China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC) chairman. A consensus was reached on further deepening strategic cooperation.

Zhang Jianfei, CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and secretary general, attended.

Secretary Du thanked CMCC for its long-term support for Hunan's economic and social development. He said that, since the beginning of this year, Hunan has implemented the decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee; made all-out efforts in epidemic and flood prevention; resumed work and production; and, ensured stability on six fronts and security in six areas. In particular, it has accelerated new infrastructure construction represented by 5G and industrial Internet, and developed new booming economies, business patterns, models, and high-tech industries such as e-commerce and mobile payment. Its major economic indicators have turned from negative to positive, and economic development has shown a stable to positive trend.

He expected the two parties would seize the opportunity, and join hands to push forward new infrastructure construction; further strengthen cooperation in the fields of 5G communications, smart manufacturing, ultra-high-definition video, mobile e-commerce, and intelligently-connected vehicles; and, promote deep integration of new generation of information technology and economic and social development, to achieve high-quality development. The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province will, as always, create conditions for CMCC advancement in Hunan.

Chairman Yang promised that CMCC will continue to increase investment in Hunan; accelerate 5G and other new-generation information infrastructure construction; build a mobile payment base in Hunan to serve nationwide users; continue to deepen collaboration in big data, new media, and artificial intelligence; and, promote related high-tech industries and new economies and patterns development, to make greater contributions to Hunan’s economic and social development.
