The 1st BFA Global Economic Development and Security Forum Roadshow in Changsha was held on July 14. More than 40 multinational companies and leading enterprises including SK, Yili, AstraZeneca, China Life, BROAD Group, Sunward, Zoomlion, Longping High-tech, Dahua Technology were present.

Li Baodong, Secretary-General of BFA, introduced the background, origin, theme, topics and guest invitations of the Forum. He said that the Global Economic Development and Security Forum is the third global thematic forum launched by BFA following the Global Health Forum and the International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum. The original intention and purpose of this Forum are to focus on the dialectical relationship between economic development and security, discuss risks, hidden dangers and non-traditional security challenges facing economic development, and create a secure and stable external environment for sustainable development in Asia and the world.

Li Baodong said the first forum will be held in Changsha from October 18 to 20, with the theme of “Economic Security and Sustainable Development under Great Changes”. The three-day forum, composed of more than 30 sub-forums, round tables, opening sessions, plenary sessions, roadshows, luncheons and dinner parties, will set the stage for over 3,000 guests and delegates to fully explore this topic. On the occasion, the Chinese and foreign leaders, heads of international organizations, the members of the BFA Council, the member of the Foreign Policy Advisory Group and former political leaders, the ministerial officials of all countries, the provincial and municipal leaders and friends from the academia and the press would join the ideological event. He pointed out that the overall planning of development and security is a major and urgent task of the period under the great changes, and it is also a topic for entrepreneurs in the 21st century to “pursue the way out in the world”. The Global Economic Development and Security Forum is designed to provide a high-level dialogue platform for political, commercial and academic leaders, especially for the business leaders, in Asia and around the world, contributing Asian Wisdom and Solutions to the development and security, the tasks of the times. Entrepreneurs are welcome to attend and participate actively.
