The silver forging of the Miao ethnic group is a traditional handicraft of the Miao people that creates silver ornaments worn on head, face, neck, and hands. In recent years, the Hunan Cultural Center, also the Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center of Hunan Province, has supported the Changsha Chaoyang Primary School to open a special aesthetic education course to introduce the history, modeling features, categories, and making process of Miao silver ornaments, and related dress collocation skills. Students learned to make use of daily articles such as tinfoil, drink cans, and packing bags to create DIY works with Miao silver characteristics. The course taught students to appreciate and make the Miao silver ornaments while exploring the charm of intangible cultural heritage and carrying forward the fine traditional culture.
