The "Lenin Era—Lenin Life Stories Exhibition" opened at Mao Zedong Memorial Hall in Shaoshan on April 22. The “Exhibition of Children’s Painting on Mao Zedong and His Former Residence” opened at Lenin Memorial Museum on the same day. The exhibitions were hosted by the Hunan Provincial Shaoshan Administration and Russia’s Ulyanovsk Culture Department. More than 300 Chinese and Russian visitors attended the opening ceremonies.

This year April 22 marked the 151st anniversary of Lenin's birth. Ulyanovsk Oblast, Lenin's hometown, and Shaoshan, Chairman Mao’s hometown, have similar revolutionary traditions.

The "Lenin Era-Lenin Life Stories Exhibition" consisted of 10 parts, including “St. Petersburg period; Lenin's road to be a leader; and, arrested and exiled to Siberia" and "Vladimir Lenin, a leader of the Soviet Republic". The exhibition covers about 100 square meters. A total of 157 pictures, 43 documents, and 19 abstracts are on display. This comprehensively introduces Lenin’s life stories and demonstrates how Lenin found the Bolshevik Party, lead the Russian people to win the October Revolution, and establish the world’s first socialist country.

The “Exhibition of Children’s Painting on Mao Zedong and His Former Residence” has five parts, including birth place; school days; study tours; early revolutionary footprints; and, residence changes. It displays 69 works created by Hunan teenagers.

The exhibitions will last for more than 2 months.
