Q: How much does a nucleic acid test cost?
A: Hunan has adjusted prices of COVID-19 nucleic acid testing – 43 yuan/test at second-class hospitals, and 50 yuan/test at third-class hospitals (detection kit cost is not included); and, not more than 160 yuan/test at third-party detection institution (all costs are included).
Note: Public hospitals will charge for detection kits in addition to medical service costs. The total expense for a nucleic acid test at medical institutions will between 60 and 100 yuan.

Q: How long does it take to get the testing results?
A: Within 24 hours. Usually, if you have registered for the testing in the morning, you may get the results in the afternoon.

Q: Is an appointment in advance compulsory?
A: Appointment in advance is not compulsory at most hospitals. Residents can make appointments at registration desks, or via the WeChat public account of designated hospitals.
