6th Hunan Provincial Ecological Civilization Forum Yongding Annual Meeting Held

On November 21, the 6th Hunan Provincial Ecological Civilization Forum Yongding Annual Meeting was held in Zhangjiajie City. The meeting theme was "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". Chen Wenhao, vice governor of Hunan Province, and Hu Baolin, member of the National Ecological and Environmental Protection Expert Committee attended.

At the meeting, the second batch of 13 provincial-level ecological civilization construction demonstration counties, (county-level cities and districts was commended, and the award-winning papers of this annual meeting were announced. The "Summit Forum" and the "County (County-level City and District) Heads’ Dialogues on Hot Topics" were held. Experts, scholars and government officials respectively expressed their opinions on the construction of ecological civilization, shared practical experience and discussed problems and solutions. The "Yongding Initiative" was released at the closing ceremony, proposing to make more contributions under the guidance of the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". 


Vice Governor Chen Wenhao stressed that departments at all levels in the province must deeply study President Xi Jinping’s thoughts on ecological civilization, need to respect Nature, follow its laws and protect it, prioritize ecology and promote green development, and strive for harmony between man and nature. We should correctly understand the requirements of the ecological civilization development, closely follow the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) and the long-range goals for 2035, and take green and low-carbon development as the direction to enhance ecological restoration. The Hunan Provincial Ecological Civilization Research and Promotion Association must unswervingly participate in the construction of ecological civilization, focus on problem solving, carefully sort out and study current ecological problems, and further transform research results into productivity and social value, so as to promote green development.
