First Hunan (Yueyang) Port Economic and Trade Expo Kicks off

The first Hunan (Yueyang) Port Economic and Trade Expo was unveiled in Yueyang on October 29, 2020. A total of 59 major projects were successfully signed on site, with a total investment of 30.8 billion yuan, including 9 foreign-funded projects from Germany, Australia, Russia, Tanzania, Uganda, and other countries, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan. Vice Governor He Baoxiang attended the opening ceremony.

There were 6 major events and 3 special activities, including port economic and trade development forum, investment and trade promotion conference, port and port corporate image display, port merchandise and famous brand and special merchandise exhibition and sales, the Yangtze River Port Cooperation and Development Forum, the Airport International Logistics Development Forum, and the China-Europe Express Railway High-quality Development Forum. The total exhibition area is about 20,000 square meters, with 13 port image halls, 410 commodity booths, and 1 shopping pavilion set up. It attracted more than 6000 products of 285 companies from over 50 countries and regions such as Russia, France, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Southeast Asian and African countries, and Taiwan.

It is the first time for Hunan to hold an economic and trade expo with port as the theme at the provincial level. Themed “prospering port economy to promote opening-up and the rise of Hunan”, the expo is hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce (Port Office of the People’s Government of Hunan Province), the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee, and the People’s Government of Yueyang City; and undertaken by the Hunan Business Service Center, and the Hunan Chenglingji Comprehensive Bonded Zone Management Committee. The event will continue until November 8.
