Hunan’s First City-level Air Emergency Rescue Base Opens in Changsha

The Changsha Air Emergency Rescue Base, jointly built by the Changsha Emergency Management Department and Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd, was put into use recently. It is the first city-level air emergency rescue base in Hunan, marking the starting of air-ground emergency rescue services in Changsha.

The rescue helicopter is equipped with professional medical equipment such as respirators, defibrillator/monitor, syringe pumps, aspirators, and oxygen cylinders. It is a “flying ICU", which will enablee that the injured and patients to receive timely emergency treatment in the shortest time. The helicopter crew also include winchman, lifeguards, firefighters, flight paramedic, to carry out fire rescue, police command, medical rescue and other services.

In the future, the Changsha Air Emergency Rescue Base will take part in emergency rescue teams’ trainings and drills concerning disaster relief, medical rescue, and anti-terrorism and contingency response, to improve its air rescue services.
