2020 Hunan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Concluded

The 2020 Hunan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition came to a conclusion in Changsha on October 28. The Hunan Shengshun Mat and Grass Crafts Manufacturer won the first prize in the start-up enterprise group, and the Hunan Jingyi Medical Technology Co., Ltd. won the first prize in the growth enterprise group. Vice Governor Zhu Zhongming attended the award ceremony and delivered a speech.

The competition attracted 2,321 companies to attend, an increase of 54% year on year. The participating projects covered seven strategic emerging industries including new generation information technology and biology. Besides the first prize, there were 2 second and 3 third prizes in the start-up and growth enterprise groups respectively. A total of 254 companies won the Excellence Award.

This year, Hunan Province has increased the number of winning companies, the proportion of awards increased to 16%, and the quality of participating projects has been significantly improved. There are now 2 companies advancing to the national finals, and 34 companies winning the National Outstanding Enterprise Awards, ranking 5th nationwide.

At the award ceremony, the investment institutions respectively signed agreements with 3 companies, and the Bank of Changsha signed credit agreements with 4 companies. It was said that this competition has reached an investment intention of 1.85 billion yuan and a grant intention of 2.06 billion yuan in credit. Among them, 17 companies have received 223 million yuan in venture capital, and 101 companies have received 950 million yuan in bank credit.

Vice Governor Zhu asked to accelerate the construction of an innovative province; further optimize the service ecology of innovation and entrepreneurship; stimulate the spirit of open and shared innovation and entrepreneurship; and, encourage more and more people to take part in entrepreneurship and innovation. We should strive to turn creative ideas into real projects, new technology into high-tech, and small industries into big ones, he added.
