Vice Governor Chen Fei and Secretary-General Wang Qun attended the meeting.
During the two-day inspection tour , the MEE inspection team will go to industrial parks, enterprises, and other places in Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan, and visit the working staff who are responsible for supervising and assisting in the prevention and control of ozone pollution in summer.
Governor Xu thanked MEE for its continuous care and support for Hunan’s development. He said that in recent years, Hunan has implemented President Xi Jinping’s thoughts on ecological civilization and kept his instruction on “protecting the Yangtze River” in mind; and, further promote the “One River (Yangtze River), One Lake (Dongting Lake), and Four Waters (Xiangjiang River, Zijiang River, Yuanjiang River, and Lishui River)” governance. It has coordinated air, water, and soil pollution control; taken serious measures to remedy Yangtze River Economic Belt ecological environment problems, and tackle the prominent issues pointed out in the central ecological and environmental protection inspection; and, carried out summer battle against pollution for 4 consecutive years. Hunan has achieved good results in ecological civilization construction and pollution control. Its ecological environment quality has been improved year by year, bringing benefits to the public.
Pollution prevention and control is related to the quality of building a well-off society in an all-round way. Hunan will continue to work hard, and follow the path of ecological priority and green development. He expected MEE to continue to guide Hunan; establish a ministerial-provincial linkage mechanism; promote policy trials; increase supports for environmental protection and improvement; and help Hunan strengthen the comprehensive management of the Dongting Lake water environment, the treatment of heavy metal pollution in the Xiangjiang River Basin, and improve provincial prevention and control of air, water, and soil pollution, he added.
Minister Huang remarked that Hunan's ecological civilization construction and ecological environmental protection have achieved obvious results and created many good experiences and practices, thanks to the great attention of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the People’s Government of Hunan Province, and the united struggle of the whole province. He promised that MEE would further deepen ministry-province cooperation; increase support for Hunan's ecological environmental protection; and, help Hunan win the battle against pollution.
