Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe convened the Hunan provincial government executive conference on June 4 afternoon. The meeting called for learning and implementing the spirits of the 3rd sessions of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (“Two Sessions”); arranging the annual self-evaluation of pollution and control effectiveness; establishing the nature protected area system; constructing and managing small-scale rural schools; and building Hunan into a sports powerhouse.

It underscored that we should:
- Unify our thoughts and actions around the spirits of President Xi Jinping’s important speech and the National “Two Sessions”; faithfully carry out the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the requirements of the government work report; achieve the goals of building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and striving for a decisive victory in poverty alleviation;
- Put the people in the first place; exercise power for the people, perform duties for the people and serve the people; implement all the decisions and deployments, and actual work following the people-centered development philosophy;
- Focus on the tasks of building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects; ensure stability on the six fronts including employment, finance, foreign trade, foreign and domestic investments, and expectations; and security in the six areas like employment, people’s basic livelihood, market entities, grain and energy security, stability of the industrial and supply chains, and community-level management;
- Fight the three critical battles against potential risk, poverty, and pollution; and make unremitting efforts in the tasks of ensuring economic and social development;
- Reinforce public health protection; improve the mechanism for major epidemic prevention and control; and guard against major health risks;
- Shoulder the responsibilities to vigorously promote the construction of a law-based government and combat formalism and bureaucracy; and achieve practical results to live up to the expectations of the Party and the people.

It also studied other matters like the construction of the Yuelu Mountain Seed Industry Innovation Center.
