Precise Approach Adopted to Advance Epidemic Prevention and Control and Work Resumption

The Hunan Provincial People’s Government Information Office held a press conference on February 26. Persons in charge of the Hunan Development and Reform Commission, Hunan Health Commission, Hunan Department of Industry and Information Technology, Hunan Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Hunan Department of Commerce, Valin Group, and Jiangwan Community of Kaifu District, attended. They presented Hunan’s coordinated work on preventing and controlling COVID-19 epidemic and guaranteeing economic and social development.

Hunan has adopted a precise approach on epidemic prevention and control when advancing resumption of work and production in different regions based on local health risks. Among all the 122 counties, county-level cities, and districts, 78 regions are in low-risk category; 44 in medium-risk category; and, there are no regions with high risks. As of February 25, Hunan’s newly confirmed and suspected cases have seen single-digit daily rise. The recovery rates reach 76.7%. In Zhangjiajie and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, all the patients recovered.

Since mid-February, the resumed tertiary industry and key projects across Hunan increased by more than four percentage points daily. As of February 25, more than 15,000 enterprises over designated size (93.5% of the total) have resumed work, and 73.8% workers returned to work; 2,407 key invested enterprises (92% of the total) resumed normal production, including 200 key foreign-funded enterprises (96%), and 850 key foreign trade enterprises (80%); and, 164 of the total 173 key construction projects restarted.

Hunan will further coordinate epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development. Hunan’s economy will continue to maintain sound momentum in the long run.
