Hunan Reports 69 Confirmed Cases of New Coronavirus Pneumonia

Hunan health authority announced on January 26 that, 26 new confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), including 6 in critical conditions, had been reported in the province by the end of January 25, 2020. No people died of the disease, and no discharged from hospitals.


Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture reported the first confirmed case. The newly-confirmed cases were reported in Changsha (10), Zhuzhou (2), Xiangtan (1), Yueyang (1), Changde (4), Chenzhou (2), Huaihua (3), and Xiangxi (3). Among those in critical conditions, there were 2 in Changsha, and 1 in Shaoyang, Changde, Yiyang, and Huaihua each.

During the 24 hours of January 25, a total of 69 confirmed cases had been reported in Hunan, including 20 in critical conditions and 1 severe case turned into common one. No people died, and no recovered had been discharged from hospitals.


Among the confirmed cases, 18 are in Changsha, 3 in Hengyang, 3 in Zhuzhou, 3 in Xiangtan, 2 in Shaoyang, 6 in Yueyang, 7 in Changde, 4 in Yiyang, 3 in Chenzhou, 4 in Yongzhou, 8 in Huaihua, 5 in Loudi, and 3 in Xiangxi. Among the cases of critical conditions, 7 are in Changsha, 1 in Hengyang, 1 in Zhuzhou, 1 in Xiangtan, 1 in Shaoyang, 1 in Yueyang, 1 in Changde, 1 in Yiyang, 4 in Yongzhou, and 2 in Huaihua.


A total of 1,231 close contacts have been traced, the authority said, adding that among them, 1,218 are under medical observation while 13 others have been discharged.
