The Shaodong Xingsha Logistics Park was officially opened on January 3, 2020. It is a provincial key planning project during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period. It is also the largest and most complete modern logistics park in central and western Hunan. This marked Shaodong City successfully built a modern and intelligent logistics park, and its logistics industry realized transformation and upgrading.

The project phase Ⅰ covers an area of 228 mu (15.2 ha.) and a total construction area of 270,000 square meters, with a total investment of 780 million CNY. It is a composite logistics base integrating logistics office, comprehensive services, business information, logistics distribution and warehousing.

Shaodong recently has focused on the goal of creating a “commodity logistics distribution center in the central region”; based itself on “building large market, developing large commerce and trade, and constructing large logistics”; and accelerated upgrading and transformation of commerce and trade logistics in traditional market. It has established a modern business logistics platform, with an international business town and Xingsha Logistics Park as the lead, and created an upgraded version of the Shaodong market business logistics that is “commercially interconnected”.

Shaodong now has nearly 300 logistics companies and 160 logistics lines, covering 80% of counties (cities, districts) nationwide. The highway logistics lines have reached all prefecture-level cities and more than 70% of counties in the country. The logistics business involves two international border trade areas in Myanmar and Laos, with a daily throughput of more than 400,000 cargos. This help make Shaodong the largest logistics distribution center in central and south China. There are over 300 self-operated import and export enterprises and 2,000 overseas sales platforms in Shaodong, which have effectively promoted “enterprises from Shaodong going global” and “Shaodong products selling abroad”.
