The Hunan Frontier Inspection Office reported that more than 3 million visitors entered, or departed China in Hunan in 2019, a rise of 16% over the previous year. There were more than 20,000 international flights in or out of Hunan, up 14%.
In 2019, 13 new international air routes to three countries and regions were added to the existing 65 routes. The number of travelers increased rapidly.
Hunan’s border inspection authorities carried out administrative reforms, such as establishing real-time passenger flow monitoring and early warning mechanisms; announcing traffic flows and traffic pressure relief plan, and publicizing accident blackspots and traffic safety tips; and, shortening Chinese citizens’ waiting time for customs clearance to less than 30 minutes.
There are 22 self-service customs clearance channels for traveleres at entry-exit ports across the province. More than 1.38 million self-service customs clearances were handled saving travelers much time.
Hunan’s border inspection authorities take strict action on illegal exits and entries, and other related illegal activities, so as to guarantee safe and order operation of the ports.
