2019 SRYIPC Excellent Works Exhibition Opens in Changsha

On November 16, the 2019 Silk Road Youth International Photography Competition  (SRYIPC) Excellent Works Exhibition was launched at the Hunan Provincial Cultural Center. A total of 150 awarded works that stood out from 160,000 entries submitted by 52 participating countries are on display.

During the 5th World Photography Conference in 2017, 39 “Belt and Road” countries agreed to establish the “Silk Road Photographic Organization International Alliance (SRPOIA)”. The SRYIPC was the alliance’s first important activity after its establishment. It aims to create a cultural exchange platform for young people across the world through photography. It was approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education as a national competition for primary and secondary school students in 2019.

The SRYIPC Hunan Division Contest was launched this June. The theme was "Home ". All adolescents between 8 and 22 years old who take interests in photography could participate. The competition was divided into A and B groups. Group A targeted at adolescents between 8 and 15 years old; and, Group B targeted at those between 16 and 22 years old . 
The contest received 7,783 works from 3,685 participants. Finally, two first prize winners, three second prize winners, and five third prize winners were selected for Group A and B each. Fifty-nine works won excellence award. Five works of Group A and B respectively won most popular award based on WeChat voting. There were 20 excellent tutor award winners, and three excellent organizations. The award ceremony was held on November 16.
The exhibition has been touring in Beijing, Quanzhou, Chengdu, Ningyang, Chongqing, Urumqi, Guizhou, Xi'an, Sri Lanka, and Sydney. Changsha is the last station. Eighty-nine works of the 2019 SRYIPC Hunan Division Contest are exhibited. The exhibition will last until November 24.
