The new energy automobile industry is developing rapidly, but the charging infrastructure is difficult to meet the needs of electric vehicles. The Hunan Charging Infrastructure Association was established in Changsha on May 28. It is aimed to build up a new mechanism for information exchange and industry linkage, to promote charging infrastructure connectivity.
By the end of 2018, there were 8,513 public charging piles in Hunan Province, an increase of about 32% over the previous year. Together with private charging piles, the total number of charging piles exceeded 16,000. According to the plan, by 2020, there will be about 415 centralized charging stations and 200,000 distributed charging piles in Hunan.
The Hunan Charging Infrastructure Association was initiated by the State Grid (Hunan) Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. and other units. The association will guide related Hunan charging facilities organizations to achieve facilities complementary and scale development, share information and industry linkages, promote the construction of charging infrastructure in Hunan, and inject new vitality into the development of new energy automobile industry.
