The 2nd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) and the China-Africa Economic and Trade In-depth Cooperation Pilot Zone Promotion Conference were held in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province on May 25. Vice Governor of Hunan Province He Baoxiang made a speech.

Nearly 400 people participated, including South African, Ethiopian, Namibian, Zambian, Tanzanian, Algerian diplomatic envoys to China and African Union representatives; heads of relevant ministries and commissions such as the Ministry of Commerce; representatives of relevant provincial departments, cities and prefecture in Hunan and Zhejiang provinces; and representatives of central enterprises, local enterprises, and business associations.

He Baoxiang pointed out that CAETE is Hunan's first national, international, and normalized economic and trade platform. Hunan, the host of CAETE, has combined the efforts of good preparations for holding the expo and the building of Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone. The province is accelerating the construction of a pilot zone for in-depth economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa, and is establishing a long-term mechanism for economic and trade cooperation with African countries.

He Baoxiang said that Yiwu is a "charming city" connecting China and Africa. He expected that Chinese and African governments, think tanks, enterprises, and financial institutions will work together to make new advances and achieve win-win results in deepening China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. Vice Governor He hoped traders to publicize China-Africa cooperation policies, so that more Africans will participate and pioneer in China-Africa cooperation.

He Baoxiang also met with domestic and foreign entrepreneurs and representatives of chambers of commerce who carry out economic and trade activities with Africa.
