In the first half of the year, the operating revenue of Hunan’s mobile internet companies was estimated to hit 70.7 billion yuan, up 10.8% year on year, according to the Hunan Industry and Information Technology Department. The decline in the sector in the first quarter reversed and these companies had made a strong recovery.

"New growth points are brought by information consumption, and a group of companies with innovation capabilities have broad prospects," said person in charge of the department.

From January to June, the profits of 63 major provincial mobile internet enterprises increased by nearly 30% year-on-year, and the number of employees increased by 5.7%.

New digital infrastructure promotes the development of the mobile Internet industry. Sany Heavy Industry has built one 5G macro station and two 5G digital rooms in Changsha Industrial Park, achieving full 5G signal coverage. Sunward and HNAC Technology are developing “smart business” by using new technologies such as 5G, blockchain, and Internet of Things.

A number of potential projects fuel industrial development. Chinese Software Developer Network (CSDN), the largest developer community in China, was headquartered in Changsha, and will cooperate with the Changsha government to build the "China Software Developer Industry Central City". Wondershare Technology’s second operating headquarters will be settled in China Electronics Corporation (CEC) Software Park in Changsha. Beijing-based Ksyun, a cloud computing subsidiary of Kingsoft, will build a digital economy industry headquarters base and a science and technology innovation center in Malanshan.

In the first half of the year, 1,007 mobile internet companies had registered in the Changsha National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, with a new financing amount of 2.844 billion yuan. By the end of June, the total number of mobile internet companies in the zone reached 10,729. Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Industrial Park achieved a revenue of 13.6 billion yuan in the first five months, an increase of 14.9% year on year, with 337 new market entities introduced. CEC Software Park has introduced a number of well-known companies to improve its software industry and Phytium-Kylin ecosystem.
