2022 Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo

The 2022 Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo will be held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center between August 25 and 27. It was announced at a press conference of the Information Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government on August 10.

Themed "New Culture and Tourism, New Science and Technology, and New Future", the expo will cover a total area of about 58,000 square meters. More than 700 enterprise exhibitors will participate. The main venue will be located at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center, covering 30,000 square meters and consisting of two main parts – image display, and transaction and interaction. Ten exhibition areas will be arranged.

The image display part will focus on culture and tourism resources, cultural tourism facilities, intelligent cultural tourism progresses, cultural and tourism towns, and cultural industrial parks in Hunan and other provinces. Its main exhibition areas will respectively present the comprehensive images of Hunan Province, the images of Hunan's cities and prefecture, and the culture and tourism images of other provinces.

The transaction and interaction part will include the exhibition areas for new business forms of cultural and tourism industry, such as intelligent cultural tourism, cultural and tourism facilities, intangible cultural heritages, recommended cultural and tourism supporting resources, cultural and creative and tourism commodities, agriculture-culture-tourism integration, animation and cartoon, and cultural and tourism finance.

Beyond that, live streaming will be conducted on the online platform of the expo and the Douyin platform. 

The sub-venue will be set up in the Ouyang Xun Cultural Park on Shutang Mountain, Changsha. The 28,000-sqm exhibition area will be divided into four zones, focusing on new sci-tech elements such as hi-tech cultural and tourism facilities, entertainment and recreation equipment, parent-child and immersive experience, and commercial services. New technologies, products, achievements, creations, services, business forms, and progresses in culture and tourism technology field will be highlighted.

A variety of activities will be held during the expo, including an opening ceremony and exhibition area tour, Hunan's first serial activities of the application and presentation of cultural and tourism technologies and products, a provincial forum on cultural and tourism in-depth integration and development in rural areas, senior tourism managers symposium, a provincial cultural and tourism product promotion conference, the 2022 Hunan Cultural and Tourism Commodity Competition, and a closing ceremony.

Besides, there will be various interactive activities and products to boost cultural tourism and consumption, including "blind box" prizes, consumer coupons, sec-killing of cultural and tourism commodities, parent-child study tours, intangible cultural heritage performances, and night-time economy consumption carnival.

In the first half of this year, Hunan received 171 million tourists from home and abroad, and made a tourism revenue of 257.209 billion CNY. These two figures were respectively 6.1 and 9.7 percentage points higher than that of the national average, and resumed to 85% of the level in 2019. The expo this year is a major event of the first Hunan Tourism Development Conference. It aims to foster a strong atmosphere for the conference, and achieve the goals of prospering the host cities and setting up examples based on province-wide efforts. Hunan will continue to promote resumption of industries and arouse new vitality in cultural and tourism consumption while carrying out epidemic prevention and control on an ongoing basis.
