On September 1, the Information Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government held a press conference on Hunan's holding of the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival celebrations, which will be held in Changsha on September 22 and 23.

The year of 2021 marks the fourth Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival. Changsha is one of the three main venues of the festival. Celebrations in the city will center on the theme of "celebrating a bump harvest and expressing gratitude to the Party". They will highlight rich red or revolutionary culture, splendid rice-cultivating history and culture, and solid strength in paddy rice breeding, so as to demonstrate Hunan's firm determination in shouldering the responsibility for the pursuit of food security.

There will be two main events in Hunan, including a forum on rice-cultivating culture and food security and national farmers' art performances. Sub-venue events will be held to demonstrate rich rice cultivation culture of Yongzhou's Daoxian County and Changde's Lixian County. A live link-up will be carried out between sub-venue events and main venue events. Besides holding main venue events, Hunan will organize a series of provincial-level harvest celebration activities.

The celebrations are under the guidance of the steering committee of the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, and organized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Changsha Municipal People's Government. The festival is specially held for farmers and enables them to play a principal role in demonstrating the achievements in agriculture, rural areas, and rural people.
