David: Trip in Beijing

Hello friends!

As Arnold Schwartzenegger once said- I'm Back!

After almost 3 weeks of traveling around China with my inlaws I'm back in Changsha. I'll tell you a little bit about the trip.

My wife Shlomit's parents decided a few months ago to spend the Passover holiday with us here in China to bot visit us and also get a chance to see this wondorus country that they've heard so much about.

Since they funded the trip I was given the position of planner and tour guide. Planning a trip in China is not the hardest thing in the world but can be tricky when subjected to limitations such as observing shabbat and jewish holidays and eating kosher food.

I planned the itinerary that looked like like this:

The purple parts are holidays on which travelling by vehicles and spending money is prohibited, therefore reducing the activities on these days to eating, prayer and walks in the local vicinity of the hotel in that city.

Beijing
We met Natan, Rachel, Orit and Omer (Shlomit's Father, Mother, Sister and Nephew) in the Beijing airport, that evening I took them to a kosher restaurant called "Dini's" which turned out to have amazing food and served famous Chinese dishes such as "Kung Pow Chicken" only made with kosher meat.

Our travelling in Beijing was quite intense, everyday we saw several sites. On one Tiananmen square, The Forbidden City and the summer palace followed by an acrobatic show in the evening. On another day The Great Wall, Ming Tombs followed by dinner and some shopping at the silk market. I had planned an itinerary for a whole other day of tourist activities but after the evening at the silk market everyone decided that they preferred bargaining and shopping rather than more sightseeing so that is where we spent our last day in Beijing.

I am attaching some photos of Beijing, I'll continue about the rest of the trip tommorrow…
