The Best Places to See Cherry Blossoms

When the cherry trees bloom, it’s time to see a magical springtime fantasia. Cherry blossoms are expected to flower in many places in Hunan as follows:

Hunan Forest Botanical Garden

 

Hunan Forest Botanical Garden boasts more than 10,000 white cherry blossom trees. A fantastic night view of cherry blossoms will be seen through LED lamps. The 2018 Hunan Cherry Blossom Cultural and Art Festival are held between March 22 and 24.

How to get there: take bus No. 152, 7, 102, 107, 103, 123, 134, 147, 502, 703, 801 and 802, and get off at Zhiwuyuan Station

 

Xiaoyuan Park

 

The park has more than 200 cherry blossom trees, including over 20 early cherry blossom trees. It is a good place for flower enjoying and spring outing.

How to get there: take bus No. 12, 104, 105, 111, 113, 117, 118, 225, 317, 401, 405, 803, Lishan Special Line and Lv 1, and get off at Changdao Intersection Station, or Xiaoyuan Road Station, or Hunan Provincial Public Security Department Station

 

Wangyue Park

 

It is the only park in Hunan that has cultivated cerasus serrulata (Lindl.) G. Don ex London. It features white, purple, and pink flowers.

How to get there: take bus No. 152, 317, and w168 and get off at Wangyue Park Station

 

Mawangdui Road Lined with Cherry Blossoms

 

Located between Renmin Road and Hehua Road, Mawangdui Road is a well-known road in Changsha where citizens may enjoy a nice view of cherry blossoms. The oriental cherry trees planted along the road sides are particularly charming.

How to get there: take bus No. 19, 220, 301, and 705 and get off at the intersection of Hehua Road, Mawangdui Road

 

Guiyang Cherry Blossom Park

 

Covering an area of 300 mu (20 ha.), Guiyang Cherry Blossom Park is Hunan’s first cherry blossom-themed ecological tourism project. The 3rd Guiyang Cherry Blossom Festival takes place from Feb. 16 to Mar. 31.
