Two Tunnels of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Inter-city Railway Zhuzhou Section Opened

The Kuzhuao Tunnel of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Inter-city Railway Zhuzhou Section was blasted on May 13, marking the rapid progress of the whole project.

This 358-meter tunnel followed the opening of Huangniping Tunnel. Besides the completed two, the other three tunnels such as Hejiachong Tunnel, Caojiafang Tunnel and Xuetangpo Tunnel are under construction. 


According to the plan, the inter-city railway totals 95.856 kilometers. Zhuzhou section covers 32.905 kilometers consisting of 23.188 kilometers passing through the downtown area, 8.984 kilometers through Shifeng District, 2.486 kilometers through Yunlong Demonstration Zone, 4.704 kilometers through Hetang District and 7.014 kilometers through Lusong District. It also runs through four super bridges including Yapotang Bridge, Baishigang Bridge, Yunlong Bridge and Huangniping Bridge.
