Boasting seven “No. 1” records worldwide in bridge construction, the world's first multiple-span cable-stayed bridge in Chishi of central China's Hunan Province is near completion. The Chishi bridge project started in March, 2010 and will open to traffic on Oct. 28, 2016. The bridge is a critical part of the Rucheng-Chenzhou section of the Xiamen-Chengdu Expressway project and spans 1,500m across the valley with an average height of 270m and a designed speed of 80 km/h. It adds an inter-provincial channel linking Hunan and other provinces, including the Pearl River Delta, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Belt, and the Fujian-Taiwan Economic Belt.

Located at Chishi Township, Yizhang County, Chenzhou City, it is the second world-level grand bridge in Hunan Province after the Aizhai Suspension Bridge.
