Hunan Economic Work Conference Kicks off

The Economic Work Conference of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee was held in Changsha on December 25 and 26, 2018. Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. He summed up the provincial economic work in 2018; analyzed the current economic situation; arranged economic work in 2019; and defined the overall requirements, objectives, and tasks. Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, made specific arrangements for economic work in the coming year. Li Weiwei, CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee chairwoman, attended.
Other provincial leaders, such as Wu Lan, Fu Kui, Huang Guanchun, Huang Lanxiang, Wang Shaofeng, Cai Zhenhong, Hu Henghua, Zhang Jianfei, Feng Yi, and Liu Lianyu, also attended. Chen Xiangqun, CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and executive vice governor, made a summarizing speech.
Seven major tasks in 2019 were confirmed at the meeting:
1. To promote industrial development;
2. Continue to fight the “three battles” of control risks, reducing poverty, and tackling pollution;
3. To deepen implementation of innovation-oriented opening and development strategy;
4. To expand effective demands; 
5. To push forward coordinated development of urban and rural areas;
6. To enhance reform; and,
7. To go all out to benefit the people and ensure their life stability.
The meeting summarized Hunan’s population and family planning, comprehensive maintenance of law and order, and production safety evaluation in 2018, and commended the “Five 100” excellent projects of the “Year of Industrial Project Construction” plan.
