Hunan, Beijing Enhances Health and Education Partnership

On June 1 and 2, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning and the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hunan Province; and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Hunan Provincial Department of Education signed the strategic cooperation framework agreements respectively. Hunan Vice Governor Wu Guiying attended and delivered a speech.

Vice Governor Wu introduced that Hunan province now has 4 national clinical research centers, 12 national key disciplines, and 75 national key clinical specialty projects. The provincial general education development enjoy high rankings nationwide. Its national key disciplines, national-level master teachers and teaching teams, and scientific and technological innovation platforms, and other important indicators have maintained the top 10 in the country. She said, “Beijing's health care and education are well developed. Its rich experiences are worth learning from for Hunan.” “The cooperation between the two places may provide a typical example of exploring successful experiences for interprovincial collaboration,” she added.

According to the agreements, the medical institutions of Hunan and Beijing will cooperate in management, technology, scientific research, and personnel training. They will carry out telemedicine services, coordinately participate in major national scientific research projects, and promote the improvement of scientific research capacity in Hunan. The education departments of both sides will share the advanced educational resources, and jointly take part in education supervision and scientific research.
