Hunan Economic and Trade Delegation Visits Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic

CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and Executive Vice Governor Chen Xiangqun led an economic and trade delegation to visit Switzerland, Germany, and the Czech Republic between April 19 and 28, 2018. He met with local governments and enterprises representatives, and signed a series of cooperation agreements. Broad consensus has been reached and fruit results achieved.

In Switzerland, Chen Xiangqun paid a visit to the Berne Economic Development Agency and met with Deputy Governor of the Schaffhausen State and Minister of Economic Affairs Ernst Landoldt. They exchanged ideas on promoting sister cities development and cooperation in the fields of economy and trade; science and technology, and, tourism.

Chen attended the Hunan-Germany Investment and Trade Conference and the Hunan-Czech Republic Investment and Trade Conference in Germany and the Czech Republic. He also met with Mecklenburg Vorpommern State Secretary, and the Czech Republic former Prime Minister and New Silk Road Infrastructure Development and Technology Association President Petr Nečas. He said that Hunan is vigorously implementing the strategy of innovation-oriented opening up, striving to develop the real economy, building a modern industrial system, and promoting high-quality economic development. He expected to enhance Hunan-Germany cooperation in industrial technology, economic and trade, finance, tourism, environmental protection, and sister cities partnership. He said that in virtue of Czech's special geopolitical advantages, industrial cooperation between both sides will be strengthened, the interaction of market entities better supported, and close and friendly exchanges made. It will build a bridge for Hunan to explore the market in Central and Eastern Europe, Chen added.

On his 3-nation tour, Chen also visited the Chinese Embassy in the Czech Republic, the Consulate Generals in Zurich and Hamburg, and the HANNOVER MESSE in Germany, and inspected relevant foreign companies and sci-tech research institutions.
