Hunan Delegation Holds Seventh Plenary Meeting

On the afternoon of Mar.12, 2017, Hunan delegation held its seventh plenary meeting to review the revised draft of General Principles of Civil Law (GPCL), the revised drafts of related decisions and measure on the GPCL, and the “two supreme” work reports; namely, the Report on Work of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and the Report on Work of Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP). SPC President Zhou Qiang attended the deliberation and listened to opinions. Head of Hunan delegation Du Jiahao, deputy heads Xu Dazhe, Wu Lan, Han Yongwen, and Xie Yong participated in the discussion.

 

Zhou Qiang remarked that the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province have earnestly studied and implemented the spirits of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches, adapted to, comprehended, and led the new normal of economic development, and insisted on the general principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability. Its people have jointly forged ahead to achieve encouraging economic and social advancement. We sincerely expected Hunan to make greater contributions and believed that it will embrace a promising future, he added.

 

Du said that the “two supreme” work reports were good ones with practical truths and results sought from facts, objective and accurate analysis, and realistic and pragmatic deployment, reflecting the Party’s leadership and the central government’s requirements, which fully embodied the spirits of law-based governance, responded to social concerns, met the people’s demands, and respected the delegates’ opinions.

 

Hunan will, in accordance with the new spirits and requirements of the “two supreme” reports, conscientiously implement the decisions and deployments made by the central government, further strengthen the Party’s leadership in exercising law-based governance, assist the judiciary authorities to independently exercise jurisdiction and procuratorial powers abided by the law, deepen the reform and innovation of judicial system, support the SPC and SPP to enhance self-building, better promote judicial justice, safeguard fairness and justice, and promote social harmony, so that more people will enjoy deeply the power of judicial fairness and justice.
