Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing, Guizhou Sign Framework Agreement on Industry-based Poverty Alleviation Cooperation

Between October 30 and 31, a symposium was held in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. It was on promoting tourism-based poverty alleviation cooperation in Wuling Mountain area among the CPPCC provincial and municipal committees of Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing, and Guizhou. ‘Hunan-Hubei-Chongqing-Guizhou Cooperation Framework Agreement on Poverty Alleviation via Tourism Industry’ was signed by the cultural and tourism departments of these four regions.
The ‘Hunan-Hubei-Chongqing-Guizhou Golden Tourism Economic Circle’ would be created in an all-round way, as stipulated in the framework agreement. The four regions planned to take the following measures:
·attaching great importance to poverty-stricken areas featuring special resources, great potential for development, good market prospects, the willing public, and poverty alleviation-driven development;
·breaking administrative division barriers;
·connecting cross-region transportation;
·promoting overall publicity and marketing by utilizing advantageous tourism resources of Wuling Mountain area;
·developing new type of tourism products; and,
·driving the development of poverty alleviation tourism products nearby.
They will also make efforts as follows:
·arranging and compiling poverty alleviation projects in Wuling Mountain area via tourism;
·formulating incentives and support policy aimed at poverty alleviation via tourism; and,
·helping creating strongly-recommended routes of poverty alleviation via tourism, and driving regional poverty alleviation by implementing project-oriented tourism industry.
The Hunan-Hubei-Chongqing-Guizhou Poverty Alleviation via Tourism Meeting System will also be established. And the regions will form a cooperation leading group to guarantee practical results in poverty alleviation well delivered.
