Xiangxi Mud Festival Kicks off

The Fourth Xiangxi Mud Festival kicked off at the Red Carbonate-Rock Stone Forest National Geopark, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on July 22, 2017. It is a different way of expressing love having your body painted with colorful mud. A thousand tourists and Tujia youths participated.

During the opening ceremony, several programs were staged, such as Nuo Opera, Tujia Drama “Love at the Red Carbonate-Rock Stone Forest National Geopark”, and a song about mud festival composed by He Muyang. The performances attracted many tourists to dance to the music.
