The Hunan Construction Industry "Go-Global" Strategic Cooperation Alliance was founded on November 30, 2018. A construction industrial development and international exchange forum was held the same time. Government and commercial personnel from cooperating countries, such as Ghana, attended and delivered speeches.

The alliance involves 45 large and medium-sized Hunan enterprises. It is supervised by the Hunan Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Hunan Department of Commerce, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Hunan Sub-Council. It aims to establish an information network, to get up-to-date information about the overseas construction market.

Several industrial clusters will be formed, in the fields of prefabricated building, middle-to-low speed maglev rail line, hydropower and thermal power station, and highway and bridge construction. Hunan’s construction enterprises will strengthen collaboration with building materials, equipment manufacturing, and processing equipment enterprises, to jointly "go global".

Hunan's construction industry features three highlights:
First, improved project undertaking ability. The new contract foreign projects of 2017 amounted to 4.06 billion USD, with 45% being general contract projects;
Second, expanded business modes. Hunan’s construction enterprises have developed from simple construction contracting, to DB (design-building), and EPC+F (design-purchase-construction + finance) mode; and, drove the related enterprises to "go-global"; and,
Third, influential projects around the world. The Senegal National Wrestling Arena built by Hunan Construction Engineering Group is the largest China-aid project in Senegal.
