Xiangjiang New Area Receives Fruitful Results in Q1

The Xiangjiang New Area signed 111 contracted projects with a total investment of over 57 billion CNY in the first quarter (Q1) this year, of which, four projects were valued more than 5 billion CNY each. In 2018, the Area keeps aiming at the “Year of Industrial Projects Construction” and making great efforts to accomplish projects. A large number of major industrial projects in high technologies, with strong supporting role and powerful driving force, have come to fruition here.

In 2017, the GDP of the Area was more than 220 billion CNY and the growth rate remained above 11% for three consecutive years. The added value of industries above designated size increased by an average of 11.7% in three years, and that of high-tech industries accounted for more than 40% of the large industrial total. The Ningxiang National Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Wangcheng National Economic and Technological Development Zone was on the list of the “100 billion CNY Park”. There are 200 projects valued 261.7 billion CNY inked in 2017, accounting for more than 40% of Changsha City's total attracted investment. Twelve industries such as the special equipment manufacturing, the nonferrous metal smelting, and rolling processing were worth more than 10 billion CNY, achieving a total output value of over 425 billion CNY.

“The Xiangjiang New Area is at the critical period of accelerated, upgraded, and leap-forward development. We will pay more attention to the quality and efficiency in the process of development, to seek a transformation, innovation, and integration featured development path. We believe it would be an economic functional zone with distinctive features, high-end industries, and livable environment,” the official in charge of the Xiangjiang New Area Management Committee said.
