CZT Xiangjiang Bay Comprehensive Innovation Pilot Zone to Be Established

The major projects signing ceremony and expert seminar on the CZT Xiangjiang Bay Comprehensive Innovation Pilot Zone was held in Beijing on March 24, 2018. It was an important measure to comprehensively implement Hunan's “innovation-driven opening up” strategy, strive to attract more Fortune Global 500 projects to be launched in Changsha, and promote CZT city cluster integration.

Fan Hengshan, deputy secretary-general of the National Development and Reform Commission, made suggestions for the CZT Xiangjiang Bay Comprehensive Innovation Pilot Zone development. He said, “Firstly, the zone should be clearly oriented via roles, objectives, and functional planning. Secondly, it should meet the requirements of both China’s development in the new era and the regional advantages. Finally, efforts should be made to link up with international standards, national strategies, and global advanced models.”

Some participating experts had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the two major topics of “Highlighting strategic emerging industries to jointly build the Xiangjiang Bay grand industrial ecosystem” and “Comparing with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta Greater Bay Area to promote regional innovation and development”. They made advice and suggestions on how to achieve innovation and development in CZT Xiangjiang Bay Comprehensive Innovation Pilot Zone.

At the signing ceremony, the Xiangtan Economic and Technological Development Zone signed the Xiangtan Jiuhua High Speed Rail New Town Headquarters Economic Zone Framework Agreement with the Yida China Holdings Limited, and the New Energy Research Institute and New Sci-Tech Park Project Framework Agreement with the Beijing Sound Group.
