Xiangjiang New Area to Invest Over 130 Bln CNY into 461 Projects in 2018

It was learnt on January 15 that the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area would invest 131 billion CNY in 461 major projects in 2018. Great efforts would be made to promote high quality, rapid, and efficient economic and industrial development.

The Xiangjiang New Area further improved top-level design and rationalized system and mechanism in 2017. It focused on projects and industries progress to foster its development advantages. It introduced 9 new major industrial projects valued at over 10 billion CNY such as BGI and SINOGOLD, with key projects investment completion rate reaching 124%. The emerging industries, such as mobile Internet, additive manufacturing, Beidou navigation, modern finance, and innovation, witnessed rapid development. The future promising industries such as artificial intelligence and genetic health started layout in advance. Investment in new and high technology industry increased 96.4%.

In the meantime, the area has accelerated the development of financial ecosystem and provided better financial support for the real economy. The Hunan Financial Center gathered nearly 20 legal institutions, provincial branches, and licensed financial institutions. The fund managed by the Xiangjiang Fund Town exceeded 100 billion CNY, with the social capital of more than 13 billion CNY. There are 5 newly-added listed companies in the area, and its financial support for the real economy growth has been continuously enhanced.

Zhang Yingchun, member of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and director of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Management Committee, said that it would continue promoting industrial projects, highlighting the real economy, and establishing the competitive industrial chain, to take the lead in the provincial “Year of Industrial Project Construction”.
